Built in 1986 (as it appears now) by Arthur and Joyce Petten, the owners of Eastern Shipbuilders Ltd. Here, in this building, they built 27 vessels, up to 65 feet in length and employed up to 54 people at any given time. The Shipyard and the Pettens built wooden fishing vessels that are still braving the frigid waters of the North Atlantic today and are a part of our proud heritage here on the island of Newfoundland.
